Adrian Burder 1964 – 2018

The world of animal welfare has lost a true star, Adrian Burder Dogs Trust CEO tragically died last month after a short illness

Adrian was simply one in a million, a genuine man with a passion for animal welfare and a fierce supporter of those working hands-on with dogs both in the U.K. and overseas. Dogs Trust Worldwide which he helped set up has been supporting our spay-neuter work here since 2014. There are tens of thousands of dogs here in Sri Lanka whose lives are better thanks to his leadership.

On a personal level, Adrian helped us both with a lot of advice and encouragement and no matter how busy he was he always made time to catch up when we were in the UK. We last saw him a few weeks ago when he gave an inspirational talk on the work of Dogs Trust at The India for animals conference in Hyderabad, the pride he had in the work of every single Dogs Trust employee and volunteer was palpable.

When Adrian visited us here in Sri Lanka in 2016, he made time to talk with everyone at Dogstar he made a huge impact on everyone he met. Adrian was a gentleman, a man with a quick wit and wonderful sense of humour and a rare individual who shared his gifts so freely to others to help them achieve his goal which was a better world for dogs

Our entire team send our thoughts and love to Adrian's family and all those impacted by this dreadful loss,

AB, Thank you for being amazing, we will miss you so very much

Sam and Mark x
