Overpopulation is a BIG animal welfare issue in Sri Lanka

Overpopulation is a BIG animal welfare issue in Sri Lanka

Street dogs & cats in Sri Lanka face numerous challenges daily. Entire lives spent without any positive human contact, basic shelter or veterinary care. Suffering hunger, constant torment from preventable and treatable skin conditions or parasitic infections. Dogs & cats at risk of being trapped in illegal snares, injured in fights over territory, contracting sexually transmitted diseases or being exposed to fatal diseases like Rabies and the horror of being struck by vehicles and left to die by the roadside.

The solution is simple and humane , the solution is surgical sterilisation of both owned and stray animals

The numbers Dogstar have sterilised so far

Since 2007 Dogstar Foundation have sterilised 2793 animals via our Sirius outreach sterilisation campaigns here in Sri Lanka, 944 in 2012 alone ,  but there are still more on our waiting list and we urgently need your help to fund our next clinic

Starting on 18th October 2012 we are running another Sterilisation program and our  team would like to sterilise at least 50 animals

It costs just £10 to sterilise a dog or cat and vaccinate them against Rabies , preventing not only the birth of thousands of unwanted animals doomed to a life of suffering and distress but preventing the spread of deadly disease.

We need your help

We need 50 amazing animal advocates donating £10 each to fund a surgical sterilization operation and vaccination , so far we have raised £95 which means we still need another 40 people to help us

Meet the actual animal you sponsored

Donate and email your receipt to Mo@dogstarfoundation.com and she will email you a photo  of the animal or animals your donation sterilised and vaccinated

With your support this will ensure that another 50 animals are no longer having or siring unwanted litters, 50 animals no longer at high risk of conditions such as canine transmissible venereal tumors or bitches at risk of Pyometra. As well as preventing the birth of literally hundreds of unwanted puppies and kittens many of who would spend their entire lives suffering hunger, homeless and without care or shelter at risk of disease.

If you can’t donate, please can help us reach our goal by sharing our appeal on Facebook and Twitter

Thank you
